To improve academic and research communication, Mak Academy’s Principal Mak led an influential public speaking seminar. This seminar was held on the 22nd of February 2024 at the Multi-purpose Hall of Wisma Lincoln. Delegates attending the ICOGE 2024 improved their presentation skills. Delegates can convey their insights with greater impact.
The seminar covered essential English Communication topics, such as controlling the fear of public speaking. Other issues included selecting engaging topics and structuring speeches for maximum effect. Mastering body language is important to support verbal communication. Participants learnt methods to open their convincing presentations and conclude them well. In addition, thorough practice is vital for presenters to make fluent presentations.
Presenters gained the needed skills to make great presentations in an academic setting. Researchers learnt how to present various issues. These included purpose of studies, research gaps and problems, literary reviews, methods, data findings, and results. It was vital for presenters to convey the essence of their research. By learning many points on public speaking, presenters can present their research effectively in ICOGE 2024.
This initiative aligns perfectly with the ethos of the 2nd International Conference on Global Education (ICOGE) 2024. Lincoln University College’s Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities organised this conference. The conference, under the theme “Sustainability, Equality, and Quality in Education,” aims to foster a collaborative platform for global experts to share advancements in sustainable education practices. By supporting ICOGE 2024, Mak Academy helps to improve the quality of education and promote equality through effective communication and sustainable educational practices.
