Mak Kum Shi, a marketing communications specialist, is a trainer in English, Communications, and Real Estate. As an internationally renowned writer, he has an extensive cover story portfolio on property, entrepreneurship, information communications technology, lifestyle, architecture, and interior design.
His stories were published in the New Straits Times Real Estate and Décor, Malaysia SME, StarProperty, Smart Investor, Metropolitan Home, and Commercial Concept, combined with being an editor of Star Media Group’s “Rising to Prominence, Celebrating Malaysia’s Most Inspiring Developments”. He was a Finalist in the Malaysian Press Institute’s National Business Journalism Competition 2013 and Chief Judge of the StarProperty Awards 2016. He managed marketing communications for StarProperty and International University of Malaya-Wales.
In addition to being an internationally renowned speaker at ADAPT Convention – Asia’s Largest Tech Convention, he is a humorous speaking (2018) and speech evaluation (2017) champion at Toastmasters International Mid Valley Club, with Advanced Communicator Bronze and Competent Leader education awards from Toastmasters International. He is completing his Master of English Studies at Open University Malaysia, has an International English Language Test System Score of Band 8.0, and has a certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
He is a professional trainer certified by the Human Resources Development Fund, Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator, a life member of the Malaysian English Language Teaching Association, and an associate member of the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents.
